Division of Wooden Structures

The Institute offers the entrepreneurs and companies the following services and research works:

  • preparation of technical opinions in civil engineering,
  • preparation of technical opinions in industrial building,
  • preparation of technical opinions in agricultural building,
  • preparation of technical opinions concerning thermal refurbishment of buildings and other aspects of building physics (thermal-moisture issues, acoustics),
  • for companies and external clients, preparation of opinions defining maximal permissible loads for existing warehouse racks and shelves. /An obligation to establish maximum loads is provided in the decree of the Minister of labour and Social Policy on general industrial safety rules – Journal of Acts No 169, pos 1650 of 2003.
  • research works on elasticity, strength and rheologic qualities of wood and wood-based materials,
  • examination of wood-based composite board materials,
  • examination of wooden structural elements.
  • effectiveness analysis of strengthening of glued wood girders with external metal rods,
  • analysis of the influence of the material distribution among the flanges and the webs on the work of flexible-joint wooden cranes,
  • assessment of a possibility to use medium-size wood in building structures,
  • rigidity analysis of wood-steel girders with a continuously wooden and wood-based top strip,
  • long-lasting load tests for box beam framed floors, where beams are glued wood and hard fireboards,
  • feasibility analysis for extension of the use of wood-based materials in construction,
  • testing of bearing box elements made of laminated fireboards.

Division of Architectural Design

The Division offers the entrepreneurs and companies the following services and research works:

  • architectural designs of public utility buildings,
  • designs of service workshop complexes (location in existing urbanized and open space),
  • designing detached houses and detached house development complexes,
  • modification of buildings in an existing urban planning structure,
  • designing residential housing estates for indicated locations,
  • designing residential-commercial buildings,
  • modification, modernization of existing buildings or parts of urban complexes of the residential-commercial structure,
  • long-term study themes in housing,
  • designing urban interiors,
  • designing public utility buildings, including: spa care, medical care, rehabilitation and social welfare, recreation and biological regeneration buildings,
  • designs of public utility buildings, tourist infrastructure, service and production buildings, with consideration given to mobility and variability of function and creation of sustainable development processes,
  • designs of thematic parks,
  • designing transformation processes of post-industrial areas and buildings,
  • designs of city-centre quarter revitalization and transformations of housing estates,
  • cyberspace architecture designs, virtual objects,
  • designs of environment-friendly houses,

The Institute offers the entrepreneurs and companies the following services and research works:

  • research on development of modern theories, philosophic doctrines and aesthetic tendencies in architecture and town-planning of the 19th and 20th centuries,
  • type and extent of use of modern designing tools in architecture and town-planning: CAAD, CSD and GIS systems,
  • modulation of open spaces in variable Landscape scales, including particularly rural and suburban areas,
  • optimizing processes in town-planning and land development planning,
  • practical verification of research through design experiments in: monumental architecture, public utility buildings, metropolitan and town centres, revaluation of post-industrial areas and buildings, tourist and leisure areas, commercial buildings spa and seaside architecture and planning.
